Somehow Baster has ended up deeply entrenched in the Dutch hip hop scene. It might surprise his hop hop friends to know that despite his seemingly impeccable OG credentials, Bas is actually a rocker at heart. And a death metal rocker at that.

Sadly he wouldn’t let me include a link to the only remaining footage of him performing back in his heyday as the singer of some band who I’m also forbidden from naming, but having been privileged enough to see it I can safely say that music’s loss is, well, everybody else’s gain.
